Why I do not sell “just SEO”
Traditional SEO is still essential. You still need technical health, strong local landing pages, better internal linking, authority content, conversion-focused pages, and the foundations that help Google rank you.
But buyers now often discover businesses through AI summaries, zero-click answer surfaces, branded comparisons, review ecosystems, and entity signals that help search engines understand who you are, what you are known for, and where you are relevant. That is where AEO adds a competitive edge.
Example: local electrician
SEO improves the service pages, suburb targeting, internal links, review signals, and map-pack visibility. AEO then adds FAQ engineering, schema, service-entity associations, clearer expertise signals, and content designed to answer prompts such as “best emergency electrician in the Gold Coast” or “who fixes switchboard faults near me” in language AI systems can reuse and trust.
